The Prophetic Movement
The Bentley separation has more than rocked the boat of the prophetic movement. The shock waves of this announcement continue to pound the shores of this movements sandy foundations. Most in the movement are conveniently blaming anyone that stood opposed to the false doctrine being preached at the Revival for the breakup of Todd and his wife. I'll address that topic at a later date.
Chuck Pierce who is a self proclaimed prophet and a leader of the prophetic movement made a statement recently regarding the separation of Todd and his wife. In his statement I believe he reveals the true priorities of this movement.
"He and his wife might not be able to withstand the pressure of ministry together in the future, but during these nine months Todd’s choice would be to submit to the authority structure that God has established in his life publicly. If he does that, he might have a ministry in the future. " - Chuck Pierce
They are more concerned about the possibility of Todd's ministry continuing on than they are the restoration of the marriage. The marriage may not have a future but if Todd is a good boy than he may have a ministry in the future. Are you kidding me! This is a classic case of leadership being more concerned about a man's ministry or gift then the man himself. This is sad.
The goal isn't to restore a ministry, it's to restore a man and a marriage. Or at least it should be! On a side note, if there are not Biblical reasons supporting a divorce then he has no Biblical grounds to return to ministry period.
